A few things we’re great at

Having a coach to help guide you to achieve the best version of you is a sound investment in the only area of life that you have control: yourself. Coaching is not all about finding just what works to help achieve goals. It is about valuing yourself as an individual and as the primary contributor to building your best life.

CASE STUDY

The Secret to Success

Our founder and head coach, Jeff Ziegler, has worked with dozens of clients over the years. Since becoming a young widower, his passion and purpose has been to work closely with caregivers who have been providing care to terminally ill spouses or other family members, and for other widows and widowers as they navigate the dificult and dynamic (gut wrenching and life altering) changes that have taken them from a life they knew to a “new” life they face without their person.

If you (or someone you know) is currently a caregiver for someone terminally ill, is a widow or widower, or for whatever reason has had to look at life differently (lost a job, burned out, started a business and needs someone to help motivate and guide them in goal setting and achievement, or any other major life upheaval), then please let them know there is someone able to help navigate the stormy (oftentimes raging) seas we ride–––through waves of grief, uncertainty, and confusion.

Jeff offers help to caregivers, widows and widowers with pre-teen, teenage and early-college student aged children who also undoubtedly struggle to define “what they want” from life and where they want to be in the future. If your child needs a coach, we offer a special program for young clients.

LOSS

A widower was struggling to cope with the loss of the life he knew after his wife of 11-years died tragically.

FINDING A CENTER

Sometimes, the hardest thing to do is find your center. But we can all find it if we choose to.

GOALS

He challenged himself by setting first easy, realistic goals to achieve in the short-term. Jeff pushed him to set more challenging goals and make longer-term plans for a future that would allow him the freedom and flexibility he craved.

This was challenging because his mindset was stuck in his old ways and he was, even after 7-years, still stuck in the throes of grief. He had felt a sense of deep loss of purpose and passion and never really recovered.

Through a number of sessions, he was able to rediscover some of his passion and set some goals for a future that would both honor and respect the life he had always wanted, but now was heading in a new direction.

CHANNELLING ANGER

One critical problem this widower faced was more than a feeling of loss of his wife. He felt a loss of himself (this is not uncommon). And that loss had turned to anger. Anger at himself for being unable to change his attitude.

This widower also suffered from PTSD as a result of the traumatic death of his wife. All these factors required compassion and self-love that he could only find by challenging himself and his notion of “Self” during the goal setting phase.

Once he ahcieved a few short-term goals, the weight of expectation and guilt started to fall away. Only then was he able to see a clearer path to a “new” life and future that was lighter and healthier than he had originally envisaged.
